Cemetery
located on Bank Street at Athans Avenue.
A Cemetery Service will be held on June 1, 2008
at 3PM rain or shine.
The History of St. James' and Wood's Cemetery
is NOW AVAILABLE
A new updated history book has now been completed and is now available
from St. James for $40.00 plus shipping. The book is 369 pages and contains
numerous photographs, many in colour, as well as maps and several charts. Although
the focus is on the church and cemetery, relevent community history is also
included. There is also a wealth of genealogical information with hundreds of
early Gloucester baptism, marriage and burial records listed. The book explains
who were the founding families, when the church was built, discusses the significance
of the 1853 founding date and why so little is known about the church's early
history.
